Ninety-seven years ago, the Hardaway Company completed construction on the Fourteenth Street Bridge, connecting uptown Columbus, Georgia, to downtown Phenix City, Alabama. The bridge utilizes multiple beams that span the area between abutments in order to relieve the structure of pressure.
