Farm to Table(aux): Women Making History
Featuring Celebrity Chef Alex Hitz
Christened “The Ralph Lauren of food and wine,” Celebrity Chef Alex Hitz will headline The Columbus Museum’s third annual Farm to Table(aux) fundraiser this year, an event that unites art and history with culinary delights.
Hitz, with his signature elegant, warm-but-never-stuffy, genteel Southern cuisine, is an author and columnist, a frequent guest on national programs such as TODAY, The Chew, Access Hollywood and more. Hitz also launched his own gourmet food line in 2009.
The 2020 theme of Farm to Table(aux) is “Women Making History,” a nod to the centennial celebration of women’s suffrage. During the event’s cocktail reception, community-based designers or artists each produce a spectacular tableau using local models, actors, friends, or volunteers. Each selected artwork or object this year is from the Museum’s permanent collection and related to the historical achievements of women.
The event’s popular Art for Education silent auction, chaired by Billy Kendall, is returning and will feature works by select local and national artists who have either had an exhibition at the Museum and/or work in the permanent collection.
Farm to Table(aux): “Women Making History” will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 19 at The Columbus Museum. Tickets are $150 per person and on sale now. All proceeds of the event benefit the Museum’s mission to bring art and history to life for the communities of the Chattahoochee Valley.
