The Fund for African American Art
The Columbus Museum established the Fund for African American Art in late 2014. Its purpose is to support and encourage purchases, gifts, and bequests of art by significant African American artists. This fund empowers The Museum to acquire representative works of art by emerging and established African American makers.
The Alma Thomas Society was launched in 2017 as a dues-paying membership enhancement to contribute to the fund and to vote on pieces to acquire in the Museum's permanent collection.
