An entire generation of American men traveled abroad during World War II, receiving an education in unfamiliar landscapes and cultures in both Europe and the Pacific. This exhibition features artwork created by Columbus natives Jon Robert Craig and Norman S. Rothschild during their time serving in the Pacific during World War II, as well as correspondence and artifacts from their time abroad. Craig and Rothschild recorded scenes from their travels, with Craig sketching scenes of native Pacific Islanders and Rothschild painting watercolor landscapes, as they shared their experiences with family and friends.
This exhibition is made possible through the generosity of Betsy, William and Alan Rothschild in Memory of their parents, Eva & Alan Rothschild and is also supported by Georgia Humanities, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Economic Development, through funding from the Georgia General Assembly.
