Historic Marker Dedication with Historic Columbus
Join Historic Columbus and The Columbus Museum to celebrate Women’s Equality Day and the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment! First, Rebecca Bush, Curator of History at The Columbus Museum, and Sylvia Marshall, Columbus resident and public historian, will discuss the local history of women’s suffrage and political activism. Then, Historic Columbus Executive Director Elizabeth Walden and Deputy City Manager Lisa Goodwin will dedicate and unveil the city’s newest historic marker commemorating Columbus as the birthplace of Georgia’s woman's suffrage movement.
